Saturday, April 8, 2006
Recovery, rebuilding and rebirth was the theme of so many organizations in South Louisiana this year. The Louisiana Bar Foundation was proud to do its part in the recovery by hosting the 3rd National Kids’ Chance Conference in New Orleans.

The conference was Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the Bourbon Orleans hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. The LBF Kids’ Chance Program awards scholarships to dependent children of workers killed or permanently and totally disabled in an accident compensable under a state or federal Workers’ Compensation Act or law. It is administered by the LBF and is governed by a committee representing a cross-section of the state’s legal and workers compensation communities.
The first Kids’ Chance Program was founded in 1988 by the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Georgia Bar Association. Today there are programs in more than 25 states.
