21 students receive Louisiana Bar Foundation’s Kids’ Chance Scholarships

The Louisiana Bar Foundation awarded $34,000 in Kids’ Chance scholarship to 21 students for the 2006-07 school year. Through the program, scholarships are awarded to dependent children of a worker killed or permanently and totally disabled in an accident compensable under a state or federal Workers’ Compensation Act or law.

Recipients of the 2006-07 Kids’ Chance scholarships are Jacob Belair of Lake Charles, attending McNeese State and majoring in wildlife management; Chianti Boyd from Gloster, attending Bossier Parish Community College to begin x-ray technician studies; Kristen Cloud of Castor, who will study kinesiology & health promotion at Louisiana Tech; Megan Duplechain from Ragley, attending Northwestern State University and majoring in nursing; Sallyanne Hair, from Baton Rouge, studying business management at LSU; Brandon LaGrange of Breaux Bridge, majoring in nursing at the University of Louisiana Lafayette; Robert Blake Langton from Florien, studying pre-forestry at Louisiana Tech; Lori LeBlanc of Oberlin, attending McNeese State to major in biology; Jarrett Marchand from St. Amant, taking general studies at River Parish Community College; Molly Marino of Folsom, attending LSU to study business or pre-med; Tonya Massy from Winnsboro studying kinesiology to become a physical therapist at the University of Louisiana Monroe; Jennifer Montgomery of Carencro attending LSU to major in chemistry & pre-med studies; Jennifer Powers from Oberlin, attending McNeese State and majoring in elementary education; Natalie Redditt from Ragley, studying nursing at McNeese; Kimberly Rider from Jennings attending McNeese to study animal science; Seleigh Simon from New Orleans, attending Loyola and majoring in public relations and political science; Willard "Drew" Sokol of Slidell at Tulane University majoring in business; Joshua Thornton of Metairie, at LSU to study engineering; Casey Todesco of Metairie, studying to be a respiratory therapist at Delgado Community College; Rachelle Todesco of Metairie training at John Jay Beauty College to become an Esthetician; and Savannah Walker of Deville, attending Louisiana College and majoring in math.
