Louisiana Bar Foundation Announces the 2005 Grantees
Since 1985, the LBF has distributed more than $25.8 million to deserving, justice-related nonprofit organizations throughout our state. These organizations are responsible for providing the poor with legal representation and giving safe haven to battered women and children in CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) programs.
Grant committee volunteers met at the LBF offices for the annual process of reviewing grant proposals. The task of the committee was to determine which worthy applicants would receive the funds available for 2005. The decisions were difficult with so many deserving, justice related organizations submitting requests for funding.
LBF was able to grant $1,059,622 to 46 outstanding Louisiana nonprofit organizations whose work is directly in line with the LBF's mission to advance the reality of equal justice under the law.
