LBF/LSBA Disaster Relief Fund
The Disaster Relief Fund was established to assist displaced lawyers by helping them rebuild their practices in the wake of the recent hurricanes. Through grants and business centers, the fund allows caring members of the legal community to assist their colleagues. To date, the fund has collected more than $500,000.
Applications are not currently being accepted. However, the LSBA and LBF are still soliciting donations to the Fund and additional grants will be made as funds become available.
The LBF is proud to announce the donation of $10,000 to the business centers which will provide displaced LSBA members with free access to computers, copiers, phones and fax machines.
"In this time of crisis, the Louisiana Bar Foundation is doing everything possible to continue its mission to preserve, honor and improve our system of justice. By administering the LBF/LSBA Disaster Relief Fund, we are assisting the legal community affected by the storm and ensuring that legal services to Louisiana citizens remain a priority," said LBF President Donna D. Fraiche.
Donations should be made payable to LBF/LSBA Disaster Relief Fund and sent to the Louisiana Bar Foundation, 601 St. Charles Avenue, 3rd Floor, New Orleans, LA 70130.
